English Service: Leukemia treatment and care in Kenya

On Feb 4th we mark World Cancer Day: An occasion to rally the world to overcome the barriers to early diagnosis, treatment and care.

Millicent Aroka had a conversation with LIVINGSTONE SIMIYU who was diagnosed with blood cancer also known as Leukemia in 2013.

He shares his story of being diagnosed with cancer at a young age: overcoming the fear and shock to embrace hope and strength, the effect of treatment and the journey since then including learning to speak about his experience and giving hope and encouragement to other people diagnosed with a similar cancer.

He is also the Secretary of a support group called HENZO KENYA, which comprises people living with Leukemia.
